Our Story
The Mirva Gallery Collective began in May 2017, when a group of twelve artists and makers took over an empty shop for the summer. It was such a success that we ended up staying there until the end of September, and popped back again for December.
We now have a permanent at 6 Causewayhead, Penzance and run workshops from Mirva Craftspace, 1 Camelot Court, Penzance.
Our traders currently consist of over 50 makers, who exhibit with us through our shops and at various events and shows through the year.
If you are interested in joining us, we operate on a collective basis, with traders paying toward the overheads of the shop and working a session proportional to the amount of space they are using. This not only gives you the chance to observe your customers in action, giving you insight into your potential market for your goods, but also builds a strong sense of community. Our prices for shop space start from £35 per month, although we do have some traders who prefer to join us purely for the events and shows.
We also host workshops throughout the year, from painting to clay and textiles and are always interested in meeting new tutors who may like to use our space.
